NEW DELHI: Virgin Atlantic has extended its two-decade-long strategic partnership with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) through a fresh seven-year deal aimed at accelerating the airline’s digital transformation with AI-powered, cloud-first solutions.
Under the renewed agreement, TCS will help modernize Virgin Atlantic’s core technology systems, build a Technology Command Centre, and deploy its proprietary solutions such as TCS Cognix and TCS AI WisdomNext to enhance operational agility, customer experience, and sustainability.
The move is designed to create hyper-personalized customer journeys, improve system resilience, and streamline real-time decision-making through a unified technology platform. The new AI-driven tech estate will empower crew and staff with contextual data and support more efficient airline operations.
“TCS has been a partner for more than two decades. Together, we’re building smarter, simpler and more memorable experiences powered by AI,” said Oli Byers, CFO, Virgin Atlantic.
TCS will also provide a dedicated onsite team of specialists with deep contextual knowledge of the airline’s tech ecosystem, ensuring smooth delivery and continuous innovation.
“By combining aviation expertise with data, AI, and engineering, we’re helping Virgin Atlantic redefine the future of travel,” said Amit Kapur, Country Head – UK & Ireland, TCS.
Virgin Atlantic, which ferried over 5 million passengers in 2024 and serves over 30 global destinations, has relied on TCS for critical programs across crew, cargo, and engineering functions. This renewed collaboration reinforces both companies’ commitment to innovation, customer satisfaction, and sustainable growth in the airline industry.
TCS has operated in the UK for 50 years and works with over 200 British businesses, including nearly half of the FTSE100. It is consistently rated the top IT service provider for customer satisfaction in independent UK CIO surveys.
